Host Transcriptomic Signature (RNA)
Multigene expression signatures derived from peripheral blood or lesional tissue, evaluated for detecting infection and for predicting progression to clinical disease or to immunological reactions. Examples include the RISK4LEP blood signature from Leiden University Medical Center, which predicted leprosy years before clinical onset.
